Sadvaidyasala (SVL) is one of the oldest manufacturers of Ayurvedic medicines and providers of healthcare in the state of Karnataka , India .  Established in 1913 by the late Sri B.V.Pundit, it is located in Nanjangud, a small town 23 kilometers from the historic city of Mysore on the Mysore-Ooty road.

Consistent with the vision and values of its founder, SVL continues to produce traditional and proprietary Ayurvedic medicines of the highest quality.  We accomplish this by setting exacting standards both for selection of herbs, roots and other ingredients and for processes of manufacture.  Our commitment to excellence is evidenced by the fact that, over the years, we have discontinued manufacture of medicines whose key ingredients deteriorated in quality due to factors beyond our control (e.g. environmental degradation). While the company wishes to revive some of these medicines, it resolves to do so without jeopardizing their efficacy.

The single most important factor in SVL’s lasting reputation as an Ayurvedic drugs manufacturer is the superior quality of its medicines.  This, along with our commitment to business and professional ethics distinguishes us from our competitors. 

Currently SVL’s list of medicinal products consists of over one hundred traditional and sixty proprietary formulations.  We have in the recent past introduced new proprietary formulations for rejuvenation and for the management of problems associated with vascular diseases, obesity, diabetes, arthritis and high cholesterol.

To promote the well-being of a health conscious public SVL has very recently started marketing pure, unadulterated spices (like turmeric, cumin and coriander) and natural foods (like honey).  We will shortly be adding more genuine spices to this list and expand the market.

 Future Plans  

 The company will focus on

• expanding its business in the regional, national and international markets

• providing accommodation out-of-town patients requiring extended treatment

• developing its Panchakarma (five step whole-body detoxification) unit into a SPA-cum-detoxification center

• enhancing its research laboratory for developing new formulations and analyzing time-tested ones
